Bearlytrying - Resto Druid (Trial - 29/01/17)

Post by Bearlytrying » Fri Jan 27, 2017 5:16 pm

1. Name, age, country and Battle tag.
- Bearlytrying (IRL, Morten Jakobsen), Denmark, Minifisk#2386 (Because of my bigger brother is named Fisk, im the mini).

2. Link to armory (please log out in gear you will raid in).
- ... g/advanced - i change legendaries & trinkets depending on fights, just FYI.

3. Artifact level?
- 41, haven't farmed much with the AK 25 sadly. I only do the +12 (now +15) weekly, raids and a couple of World Quest, since i have been busy with personal matters. However the logs will show my attendance is higher than any others (im a geek).

4. What are our raiding times, and do they suit you?
19.30, Wednesday, sunday and monday. I can raid all days. :-)

5. What loosystem do we use? (This is meant to see that you have read our rules)
- Loot council. Trials need 2-3 weeks to be judged and after that they can be equal on the loot system.

6. What guilds you were in and reasons for leaving? (short description)
- As my mates perhaps mentioned, Tempesta - To sum up: Dramaqueen officers, no leadership, no clear lootrules other than give to biggest ilvl upgrade (no thoughts to stat prio and the player performance), and very low attendance from officers / GM as well.

7. Logs of your past raids
Find my logs in the Tempesta raids here:
To be fair we have had WAY too many healers in tempesta (8 core raiders), resulting in an overpopulation in the HC runs where there is nothing to heal. As you see in my old logs, i always DPS, but when we are one healer too many, i just DPS (as healer) and do even less healing. If you want to find usefull logs healing wise you will have to go back and look logs from EN and ToV.

8. Screenshot of your UI (in a raiding situation)
Ehhm, my screenshot files is apparently too large. I tried to add it on a link here, but not sure its any good LUL. Perhaps i can send on email? - ... e=59125AD7
Anyways the setup is: Skada, Exorsus Raid CD's (for defensive & healing CD on raid members), and Grid Click to make rejuv and dispells faster on the standard wow raid UI. Else there is just the general addons, DBM, BigDebuff etc. etc. The raid UI frames move and enlarge / get smaller, depending on what screen i use - the picture is just from a world boss group since i just got the message from lepope today, i am sure you understand. :-)

9. What are the sites you use to keep up to date on your specc/class?
- In general Icy Veins and druid forums, but mostly i look through youtube vids, armory, logs etc. on other resto druids to see how they handle each boss. Sometimes it's easier to see the "pro" Rdruids perform on a progression boss, and then just apply their talent & gearing choice as well as playstyle (spellwise) to yourself.

10. Info about alts (if any)
- No alts worth mentioning right now, i have a lot of them but i dont play them.

11. How did you hear about our guild, what made you apply?
- Lepope ;)

12. Describe the hardest PVE boss you killed (ever) - how long did your guild work on it, what was hard, what was good about the fight etc..
- Lich King Heroic 10 man & Garrosh heroic 10 man. Me and Table have been playing together for a long time, and these 2 raids i think was some of the hardest to progress for us. Im not so sure why, maybe it was the guild we were in at the time or maybe just because i havent been progressing so hardcore as much in other contents. For extra info i played Boomie/Rdruid throughout ICC, only boomie because it was a must have on the ice cold king. ;-)

13. Anything else that could convince us that you are a good addition to our raids.
In general i consider myself as a friendly and good wow player. I am active in chat and on TS if needed, i like competition on logs, but i also like getting shitty logs for CD saving on a progression boss - all though we had a healing officer in tempesta i was the only one shot calling every healing decision made in the guild, and i still dont know why :-).

14. Your plans for the next 6 months - will you be AFK on vacation or take a break from raiding?
- I have no planned vacations or other things that will keep me AFK.

15. Do you know anyone in the guild?
- No. :-)

Cheerio peeps!

Hej there Morten! Thanks for your application.

I had a quick glance at your logs, both in heroic NH and older content. As far as I'm concerned, logs aren't only about your pure HPS numbers, but more about overall performance. Seeing that you have the presence of mind to DPS instead of mindlessly overhealing when there's too many healers speaks in your favour in my book (I'm personally an advocate of the "a healers job is to contribute as much dps as he can while keeping the raid alive" mentality). You usually also have decent to very good CPM, which shows that you plan your GCDs well and don't stand around doing nothing for prolonged periods of time.

From a pure HPS perspective, your logs in EN show that you can push out a lot of throughput if it's needed. I can only advise the officer's team to accept your trial, you have a +1 from me :-)

This is part of the formality of accepting you as trials and presenting you with what is expected of you for the coming 2 weeks

Performance that is will be seen as suited for what we are looking for. This is vague since we are not only looking at numbers when we talk about the performance of a player and this will be talked about in details between the officer team when the trial period is over.

On a social aspect you are expected to act with respect towards the other guild members.

We are here to help you get better in any way. Don't be afriad to ask for help from anyone in the guild for whatever reason. Be it M+ , Looking through logs or simply talking rotation.

Good luck on your trial.
